Peru - Olleros

Olleros is a small village in the Peruvian Andes, south of Huaraz, the capital of the Ancash province. During the violent years of the 1980s and 1990s, Olleros, like the rest of Perú, was divided by two political parties. The violence emerged from the terrorist group called “SENDERO LUMINOSO”, an armed political party and another political group called “MRTA”. A violent wave of massacres and abuses were generated, and killing was done not only by the terrorist groups but also by the FFAA (military) and the police.

Now those violent years are over.
